WHAT IS IT?

Photoshop Touch brings all the professional picture editing features of Photoshop to a brilliant app. Designed to work on tablets (there’s a great Photoshop Express version for smartphones), the app allows you to transform and edit pictures with hugely advanced editing features, which make the most of the latest touchscreen technology. Easily find pictures and then share your work through Facebook or wirelessly sync with a desktop version of Photoshop for a complete picture editing experience.

WHAT'S IT LIKE?

Photoshop Touch has been specifically designed to bring all the ingenious editing features and tools of Photoshop to the touchscreen tablet format. Combining familiar techniques with the latest touchscreen controls, it's a superb way to apply advanced editing techniques to pictures on your Android tablet (you'll need Android 3.1 OS or later).

This is a feature-packed app, which will be daunting to those who have never used Photoshop before, let alone those making the jump from Photoshop on a desktop PC or Mac. Thankfully, the home screen gives you a selection of tutorials to walk you through some of the basic Photoshop skills and techniques. These still assume a little too much knowledge, but should help you grasp the basics.

There are a number of ways to find pictures to work with: you can use images on the tablet, take a picture with the camera, search Google images or link to your Facebook account to find a photo. You can also get 'Creative Cloud' to sync with your desktop Photoshop account and find images. A whole world of picture options, then.

And it's more of the same when it comes to editing, with a whole host of ways to edit, from cropping your picture to adding effects to adjusting colour levels, all proving responsive and using the touchscreen controls effectively. Again, a basic grasp of Photoshop would definitely come in handy, as the app doesn't give you too many pointers once you've got started.

Photoshop Touch is a very powerful app that's well worth the money but be prepared to put the hours in if you're coming to this complex program for the first time.
