WHAT IS IT?

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: Camera+ is a wildly popular photo-editing app for iPhone, offering numerous tints and effects for your pictures.

WHAT'S IT LIKE?

There’s no shortage of photo-editing apps available for download at the moment, so it’s tough for Camera+ to stand out from the pack. This cheap-as-chips offering for iPhone doesn’t really do anything different to its competitors, but its strength lies in the huge choice of filters with which you can adjust your snaps.

From grunge to tailfins to so emo, there are 27 ridiculously-titled effects to choose from, with another nine ‘I <3 Analog’ lenses to purchase for 69p. One of the best bits about Camera+ is its Scenes feature where you can change the lighting and focus of a picture to enhance its quality. It’s sometimes difficult to tell the difference between the likes of ‘backlit’ and ‘concert’ but still, the idea is a good one.

With so much to alter about your snaps, some features of the app are much better than others. The in-app camera allows for timer and burst snaps but there’s no way to add blur to pictures in post-production. The sharing options in Camera+ are also pretty weak compared to Instagram’s awesome photo stream.

OUR VERDICT

Not as detailed as Snapseed and lacking the social functions of Instagram, this is still a decent download which costs only the price of a packet of crisps.
