WHAT IS IT?

The British Airways app has everything you need whether you're a seasoned traveller, planning a trip away or need to check live flight information. Search and book flights, see all your bookings, check-in in advance and track your air miles, all from within the British Airways app. You can search flight timetables, find out live information and even use your smartphone as a boarding pass - making it a one-stop app for your BA flight.

WHAT'S IT LIKE?

For all your flying needs, the British Airways app has it covered. This app has thought of everything from start to finish to get your trip off without a hitch, and has plenty else to offer besides. Neatly laid out, the app is easy to use but impressively powerful, allowing you access to plenty of live information and timetables and the ability to book flights and check-in online.

Five icons at the top of the screen take you to the key areas of the app. Book Flight, My Flights and Flight Info are the ones you'll use most, while there's a Home key and a More button to display a list of extra functions.

The rest of the screen is given over to two search bars: one is a login for Executive Club members and the other for all customers – yes, you can even get the special treatment in the app if you're part of the club! While you don't have to log in to use many of the features, you'll need to in order to see your air miles, check your bookings and check-in online – all handy features.

Being able to search and book flights is excellent, though filling in the dates and destinations can be a little fiddly, while the flight info tab goes into plenty of detail, allowing you to search via route, flight number or airport to find the latest news on a flight.

The mobile boarding pass option - available on some but not all flights - even allows you to ditch pieces of paper and simply use your Blackberry instead; they scan your screen at the airport.

And all this for free! If you're a frequent BA flyer, then you need this BlackBerry app.
