Still no deal with the Warner Music Group though
Google Music may be a mandatory download for Android smartphones but the cloud-based service has still suffered a few growing pains in its attempts to rival iTunes, Spotify and the rest. On the bright side, the big G is clearly investing a lot of effort in keeping its app up to scratch and looking dandy.
It’s just received a timely update that includes bigger album art, a live playlist reordering feature and an improved homescreen widget. If you’re you’re intrigued as to what wonders this now widget holds, you’ll be pleased to hear a thumbs-up button for favouriting the best club bangers and that old friend album art are the main new inclusions.
Unfortunately, Google Music is still lacking a deal with the Warner Music Group meaning you can’t downlaod tracks from REM, Madonna or Vanilla Ice using the app. There’s also no gapless playback as of yet.
