Money-saving download allows users to track phone usage
Worried about overspending on your phone bill? According to new research from Carphone Warehouse, consumers are more concerned about additional charges for exceeding their tariff limits than household costs like gas and water.
To avoid this happening the mobile phone retailer is introducing its Bill Angel app for Apple and BlackBerry handsets over the next fortnight. Already available for Android smartphones, Bill Angel allows users to keep an eye on their phone usage by tracking calls, text and data activity.
“Data use is continuing to skyrocket and more and more customers are now regularly overspending on their bill by exceeding monthly data limits,” comments Graham Stapleton, Chief Commercial Officer of Carphone Warehouse.
A key part of the company’s campaign to reduce Britain’s data waste – apparently we’re spending £4.8bn on unsuitable tariffs each year – Bill Angel will arrive for iPhone and iPad on 27 June, albeit with data-tracking functionality only. BlackBerry fans will be able to get the app’s full range of features on 7 July.
