Appys Awards 2012 winners announced

So it was a long and star-studded night at the Appys Awards 2012 but all the results are finally in. There were a stunning array of winners across 12 categories including Angry Birds, YouTube and Facebook.

Sky Sports News garnered the evening’s most prestigious accolade of Best App of 2012, having already triumphed in the Best Sports category. The Appys judges were particularly impressed with Sky Sports’ up-to-the-minute updates.

“First and fastest for all sports – bringing the energy and enthusiasm of popular up-to-the-minute TV coverage onto smart devices with live scores, stats and videos. A no-brainer freebie for sports fans,” comments Dave Masters, Online Features Editor of The Sun.
